Our Mission
The Vermont Library Association is an educational organization working to develop, promote, and improve library and information services and librarianship in the state of Vermont.
From Our President
I am honored and excited to be VLA President for the next year. Vermont librarians have shown again and again that we provide for our communities in a myriad of ways. From the collections we curate, the programs we deliver, the technology services we provide, and the spaces we share, Vermont librarians innovate and respond.
As skilled problem solvers, Vermont librarians approach challenges with grace and creativity. We know that the foundation of our democracy is rooted in the freedoms of speech and assembly. Librarians are keepers of this democratic cornerstone through our enduring commitment to providing free access to quality services and information in our libraries.
I’m committed to supporting our state’s librarians and to working towards a better future along with all our wonderful VLA board members, section leaders, working groups, committees, and round tables. If you’re not involved with VLA in some capacity, please consider joining a committee or round table today.
